The subdivision’s parking sticker program was enacted in 1997 by Manchester city ordinance. The purpose of this program is to limit parking in the subdivision during school hours to only those who live in the subdivision or who are performing work (construction, maintenance, etc) in the subdivision. In the past, there has been a problem with students attending Parkway South High School parking on streets in the subdivision, to avoid paying for parking in the school lots. Signs are posted on most of the subdivision streets with the parking restrictions.
Parking stickers can be obtained by residents of the subdivision from one of the trustees. One sticker is required for each vehicle.
In order to obtain stickers, a resident must:
- Have paid their subdivision assessment for the current year,
- Show a paid personal property tax receipt showing the car registered at the subdivision address, and
- Submit the make, model, year, and license plate number of each vehicle needing a sticker.
The parking ordinance is enforceable between the hours of 10:00AM and 2:00PM on days that the Parkway School District is in session. The police department will issue a fine of $35 if no sticker is visible on an automobile parked on a subdivision street.
If you are going to have visitors during school days/hours, please contact the police department (636-227-1410) and let them know that you will have guests at your house during this time. This will help make sure that they don’t get ticketed. Again, the purpose of the parking program is to cut down on high school parking in the subdivision, not to disallow non-residents from parking in our neighborhood when visiting residents.
